Young Insurance Professional of the Year Awards announced
2016 YIP of the Year Awarded to Candace Colquhoun, AIG Canada.

The annual Young Insurance Professionals of Toronto awards have been announced.
This year’s field included 20 nominees, with six finalists acknowledged at the award ceremony. The 2016 YIP of the Year was awarded to Candace Colquhoun, AIG Canada.
The award aims to honour a young insurance professional who has demonstrated outstanding performance in their professional career, while making significant contributions to Toronto’s insurance community.
Candace’s peers describe her as “passionate about developing and advancing the careers of women.” A passion embodied in her various initiatives, including co-founding AIG Canada’s Women & Allies employee resource group, guest speaker series and company-wide mentorship program.
Also noted was Candace’s successes in her role as Regional Underwriting Manager (Financial Institutions) at AIG Canada, and the breadth of her contributions to the organization. Candace is praised for her ability to lead a cohesive and tightly-knit team whose singular focus unwaveringly remains to offer unequaled customer service – even when faced with recent structural transitions. The nomination continued and remarked that “her engagement, her customer focus, and her ability to lead are just a few of the qualities that make her a stand out young professional and a significant asset to [AIG Canada].”
The YIPT Team would like to congratulate Candace and thank all the nominees and their peers for their submissions. Other finalists for 2016’s YIP of the Year Award included: Ryan Seager – RSA Group (runner up), Andrew Clarke – Aligned Insurance, Chris Mutcheson – Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty, Chris Schmidt – DKI Canada, and Kamran Afshar – Intact.
