Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) is partnering with Child Safety Link to help launch Child Passenger Safety Week 2016 in Atlantic Canada, which runs from September 18-24. This year’s theme is “You’ve got this!” and focuses on empowering parents and caregivers with resources to properly buckle their child in the right seat on every ride.

With the support from IBC, Child Safety Link produced updated communications resources which will be available to parents and child caregivers across Atlantic Canada. These include a series of instructional videos on installing and using car seats in English and French; 5 new, redesigned fact sheets for each stage including Infant (newborn), rear-facing seats, forward-facing seats, booster seats & seat belts; and, a new, redesigned “Is your child in the right seat” postcard focused on best practices available in English, French and Arabic.

“We know that by using a car seat correctly on every ride, children are 70% less likely to be seriously injured or killed in the event of a car crash,” said Sandra Newton, manager, Child Safety Link.
