Report says travelers are looking for terrorism coverage
Even businesses are looking for packages that protect them from attacks
CBS News on May 27, 2016
Amid speculation about what did or didn’t bring down EgyptAir flight 804, a few travel patterns are becoming more apparent. People are still flying, but they’re also looking for terrorism insurance.
CBS News reported that websites that help customers compare insurance products, like SquareMouth, have noticed a significant uptick in people looking specifically for terrorism coverage. Meanwhile, rates for trip cancellation policies have historically gone up after terrorist attacks like those in Paris and Brussels, and some speculate that this could add to decreased travel to those places.
Meanwhile, attacks on the ground can put businesses at risk. Owners may feel anxious and decide to look specifically for coverage that applies to terrorist attacks, but the Philadelphia Business Journal advises its readers that, actually, broader types of coverage might make more sense.
