Aviva closes acquisition of RBC General Insurance
550 RBC Insurance employees joined Aviva’s staff

Aviva Canada has completed the acquisition of RBC General Insurance, it announced last Friday. The acquisition is expected to expand Aviva’s gross written premiums by approximately $800 million.

The merger, which was first announced in January, includes a 15-year strategic agreement between Aviva and RBC, in which Aviva will administer policies and claims, and offer their full range of P&C products to RBC customers.
The acquisition will add 550 RBC Insurance employees to Aviva’s staff.
